Josephine Milne目前为澳大利亚墨尔本皇家植物园标本馆孢子植物标本馆馆长，研究员，一直在National Herbarium of Victoria, Royal Botanic Gardens 从事真菌和种子植物的分类研究， 2005－2006担任标本馆执行事务主任，2007年开始担任标本馆事务主任，在植物分类和生态研究有很高的造诣，在标本馆的管理标本资源利用方面也具丰富的经验和成就。

 

报告内容简介：

Herbarium specimens are a vital resource for researchers. The National Herbarium of Victoria (MEL) has a significant scientific and historical specimen collection.  Demand for access to data associated with the herbarium specimens resulted in a significant national project, Australia’s Virtual Herbarium (AVH). More recently, an international project, Global Plants Initiative has resulted in the imaging of type specimens held in Australian herbaria. These images are currently accessible via JSTOR.  A brief presentation will be given on the achievements and challenges of the Australian herbarium community, in particular MEL, in providing accessibility to herbarium specimens to the broader community.
